Charles Alfred Smith (1863 - 1906)
Charles was the son of John Smith and Sarah Gordon
Charles was born in 1863 and lived a short life. He had a young family but unfortunately died at sea. He was a mariner. Family folklore suggests that his head was blown off in a boiler room accident in Africa on a ship called Ashanti.

This google maps image from 2013 gives an indication of where some of these streets were. Newhall Street has become New Bird Street and Dix Street no longer exists. neither does Sandys Street. An old map would be needed to see where these streets were.
