I know it is a bit awkward when people pop up and say” we are related”....I think I was a bit forward. My aunt is very thorough in her research and I do have my grandfather’s birth & certificate
certificates....he was born in 1897 so didn’t appear on the 1891 census. His father is recorded as Robert John Westworth, Dentist , Mother as Zela Webb.
My grandfather migrated to Australia from Liverpool at age 16 on the Beltana.
The name Westworth originates from an abberattion of the names Westcote and Dilworth quite a few generations ago according to my aun’t research. She has gone as far back as the Fazerkley name in 1654. My aunt says that all Westworth’s in the world are related....pity she is living a fair distance from me now...I can’t just pop over and say...show me!!
You are quite possibly my 2nd cousin 1x removed.....if my aunt’s research is correct.....I am just compiling my family tree after a losing all the records on a previous computer and relying on my aunt’s paper records which mentions the Lawler name in one line.
I agree with some comments I found recently that say to never rely on paper facts recorded by anyone but have documents to prove the connection and even then to doubt them.....so there could be some doubt.
here is an extract from some of her recent research
Hello Glenda,
how are you all over there? Hasn't it been so cold, so glad you are back to family history, I have a lot to catch you up with, I have bought a lot of certificates, and gone a long way back with Frances Ann Parkins , Maurie's gt grandmother, I do miss telling him all the spicy bits, George Hy Webb (his Gt Grandfather) got into the Liverpool Police paper, with Frances Ann assaulting him and threatening to break all his windows, He apparently had her stashed away in a flat nearby, while he was still married to Charlotte, I presume, I think the time line seems to be when she was about to give birth to Cecil, Zela's brother. Tell me if you would like me to send the copies . ( if I can) She calls herself, Mary Ann Webb, and says she isn't his wife, (and she isn't), they didn't marry, as she married her next husband, in her maiden name. I have contacted a fellow in England who is descended from her next marriage, He was gobsmacked to know all that had gone on, before that marriage. I suspected George Hy was up to something fishy, with all that I found out about him.
Gwyn rang me tell me how delighted she was to receive Maurie's booklet, i was so pleased I sent it, she had just had her last chemo, that day.
