Elizabeth Bergum
Elizabeth was born between 1863 and 1871, although her birth cert has yet to be located.
She is first recorded in 1881 as aged 15 and living with her mother, Mary at 7 Hyslop Street. Married aged 21 in 1885. In 1887, she was living at Dix Street and gave birth to son John. Her husband Charles died in Nigeria when his ship exploded in 1906. She reportedly died as a result of falling from a table when pregnant. She was on the table trying to fix up the curtains. 1871 - census not found 1881 - Hyslop Street 1885 - married (became Elizabeth Smith) 1891 - Sandys Street (as Smith) 1901 - census not found 1905 - est death |
